Travelers planning a trip to Egypt now need to budget slightly more for their electronic visa application.

Egypt’s official e-Visa portal now lists the single-entry tourist visa at $30. The multiple-entry tourist visa is now displayed at $65.

Until now, Egypt’s e-Visa fees had been $25 for a single-entry visa and $60 for a multiple-entry visa.

In its section on visa types and fees, the visa2egypt.gov.eg portal now shows the two updated amounts:

The change comes after an increase in visa-on-arrival fees, which has applied since March 1, 2026, at Egyptian airports and other points of entry. For travelers who prefer to obtain their authorization before departure, the e-Visa still offers the advantage of an online process completed before arriving in Egypt.

The increase is limited in amount, but it applies to the two main electronic visa options available to tourists.

The single-entry visa, valid for three months, allows travelers to stay in Egypt for up to 30 days. The multiple-entry visa, valid for six months from the date of approval, is intended for travelers who need to enter and leave the country several times, with each stay limited to 30 days.

Applications can be submitted through the Egyptian authorities’ e-Visa portal. Travelers must create an account, enter their personal information, upload a copy of their passport and pay the visa fee by credit or debit card. Once approved, the electronic visa must be downloaded and presented on arrival in Egypt.

The e-Visa remains particularly useful for travelers who want to secure their authorization before boarding. Egyptian authorities nevertheless remind applicants that, as with other visas, border officers retain the right to refuse entry into the country.

Travelers must also hold a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival. A printed copy of the e-Visa may also be requested during border checks.
