The list of entry points available to travelers holding an electronic visa (e-Visa) for India has been updated on the official Indian Visa Online portal.
It now includes Bhopal and Tirupati airports, as well as several land border crossings whose addition was announced by India’s Ministry of Home Affairs on August 10, 2026.
In total, the e-Visa portal currently lists 85 entry points, including 36 airports, 38 seaports and 11 land border crossings.
That figure, however, differs from the 88 entry points announced by the Indian government on August 10, when authorities reported 37 airports, 38 seaports and 13 land crossings following the addition of 11 new entry points.

The updated list provides a clearer picture following the government’s August 10 announcement.
The table released by the Ministry of Home Affairs notably listed Darranga both among existing land entry points and among the newly added locations. The e-Visa portal naturally counts it only once.
The Attari road border crossing, which was also included in the announcement as one of the land entry points covered by the expansion, does not currently appear on the portal.
Its absence comes against a particular backdrop. Located on the India-Pakistan border, the Attari Integrated Check Post was closed by Indian authorities on April 23, 2025, as part of measures taken following the Pahalgam attack.
Meanwhile, Bhogapuram International Airport, which was included among the 37 airports in the government table, has not yet been added to the e-Visa portal.
The new Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport in Bhogapuram, Andhra Pradesh, was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 1, 2026. Commercial operations are scheduled to begin on August 17, 2026, according to the timetable announced by operator GMR Airports. Its current absence from the e-Visa list may therefore only be temporary.
For travelers, the official Indian Visa Online portal remains the practical reference for checking which arrival points are currently available to e-Visa holders. The website is administered by the Bureau of Immigration under India’s Ministry of Home Affairs.

Finally, 11 land border crossings are currently listed as authorized entry points for e-Visa holders:

These 85 locations are the designated entry points where travelers holding an e-Visa may enter India using their electronic authorization. Travelers arriving through another authorized immigration checkpoint that is not approved for e-Visa entry generally need to hold a regular visa stamped or affixed in their passport, depending on the rules applicable to their nationality and circumstances.
Travelers have more flexibility when leaving India. E-Visa holders may depart through any officially authorized immigration checkpoint and are therefore not limited to the 85 entry points that accept e-Visas.
India continues to expand its e-Visa system
The portal update confirms the continued expansion of India’s electronic visa system.
In recent years, India has gradually increased the number of airports, seaports and, more recently, land border crossings where travelers can enter the country using an e-Visa. The program is currently available to nationals of 174 eligible countries and territories.
The Ministry of Home Affairs says that around 95% of e-Visa applications are processed within 72 hours and that approximately 78% of visas issued by India are now electronic.
The official portal states that the e-Visa process is completed entirely online and that travelers must present their Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) at an authorized immigration checkpoint upon arrival in India.
The list of eligible entry points could change again soon. The start of commercial flights at Bhogapuram on August 17, 2026, could, in particular, lead to another update to the portal in the coming days.
