Tourists from 53 countries can no longer apply for an electronic visa (e-Visa) to visit Kuwait.
The Kuwaiti government has announced the temporary suspension of its electronic visa service (e-Visa) in order to make improvements and updates to the system. This decision affects travelers who were planning to obtain their visa online before arriving in Kuwait.
According to the statement published on the evisa.moi.gov.kw portal, “electronic visa issuance service is currently suspended for development and enhancement purposes.”
Although no precise timetable has been provided by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior, which is in charge of managing the e-Visa service, it is clear that the aim is to offer a modernized system that meets the growing expectations of visitors.
In order not to penalize travelers during this adjustment of the e-Visa system, the Kuwaiti authorities explain that “the following categories are eligible to obtain a tourist visa upon arrival in the State of Kuwait.”
