Visa and entry requirements deterred 43% of travelers from visiting a destination, IATA says
Entry requirements are playing a growing role in travelers’ destination choices. According to a global survey released by IATA on October 28, 2026, 43% of passengers have been discouraged from visiting a country because of its immigration requirements, up from 33% a year earlier. Meanwhile, travelers are showing strong support for e-Visas, digital passports and biometrics, while artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly popular tool for planning trips.
