A new international airport has just been added to the list of entry points to India available to travelers holding an electronic visa (e-Visa).
India regularly updates its list of authorized entry points for e-Visa holders, whether international airports or seaports, to streamline access to the country and support the tourism and economic growth of its various regions.
As of May 30, 2025, Surat International Airport has officially been added to this list, allowing e-Visa holders to enter India directly through this gateway.
The decision, announced by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), marks Surat as the second airport in the state of Gujarat, after Ahmedabad, to offer this convenience. “We are happy to announce that long awaited e-Visa facility is started at Surat International Airport,” stated the AAI.
According to the organization responsible for managing the country’s airports, adding Surat to the list of e-Visa entry points “will benefit passengers, Airlines and immigration, as the facility requires less paper work resulting faster processing, global accessibility & enhanced security.”
