Since August 20, 2026, the official Accès Maroc portal, used by eligible travelers to apply for a Moroccan electronic visa, has been experiencing significant technical issues.
The service is not completely unavailable: travelers can still access the portal, check their eligibility and, in some cases, begin an application. The problems tend to occur later in the process.
The application form gets stuck after the travel conditions step
During tests carried out over the past several days by the travel documentation experts at VisasNews and Action-Visas, the issue has occurred after the initial stages of the application.
After entering the information required to check e-Visa eligibility, applicants receive a link by email. They must then confirm the information they provided and agree to several regulatory conditions governing their stay in Morocco.
Once those boxes have been checked, clicking the “NEXT” button should normally take applicants to the personal information section.
For several days, however, the page has begun loading without ever displaying the next step.
A new test conducted by VisasNews and Action-Visas on the morning of Thursday, August 27, produced the same result: after accepting the travel conditions and clicking “NEXT,” the loading indicator appeared, but the form failed to move to the next stage.
The official Accès Maroc user guide confirms that acceptance of the “travel conditions” should be followed by the personal information section, where applicants are asked to provide details including their identity and passport information.
Travelers are reporting similar difficulties
The issues observed by VisasNews are consistent with several reports posted in recent days by travelers who are also trying to obtain a Moroccan e-Visa.
On Reddit, a discussion thread opened on August 20, 2026 includes reports of multiple applications getting stuck during the process. Over the following days, other travelers reported the same problem, particularly at the “Travel Conditions” stage. Posts published through August 26 indicate that the issue persisted despite repeated attempts and the use of different devices and browsers.
The technical problems do not always appear to occur at exactly the same point. Another report posted on August 24 describes an earlier blockage in the process: after receiving the verification email, the user clicked the link, which opened Accès Maroc and briefly displayed a loading spinner before failing to load any page. The user said they had tried multiple browsers and networks, as well as private browsing mode, without success.
These reports are, of course, individual user accounts and do not establish the cause of the disruption. They do, however, suggest that the problems are not limited to a single application or a particular device or browser configuration.
No official explanation so far
At the time of publication, VisasNews has not identified any official communication from Moroccan authorities announcing maintenance, a service suspension or the cause of the technical problems.
Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to present Accès Maroc as the official platform for issuing e-Visas. When the system was launched in July 2022, authorities said the platform had been developed by the ministry’s own engineers and technicians.
Without any official information from the authorities, it is therefore not possible to determine whether the current problems are due to maintenance, a portal update, a technical incident or another issue.
A particularly pressing issue for travelers with upcoming departures
The disruption can quickly become a serious problem for travelers whose departure for Morocco is approaching.
Under the official e-Visa terms of use, Express applications are normally processed within 24 Moroccan working hours, while Standard applications are processed within 72 Moroccan working hours. Those timeframes, however, apply only once an application has actually been submitted. They obviously cannot begin to run when a user is stuck before being able to complete and pay for the application.
Travelers affected by the disruption are therefore advised not to wait until the final days before departure to begin the process and to keep trying periodically until normal operation of the platform is restored.
Visa-required travelers with an upcoming departure who remain unable to submit an e-Visa application may also wish to contact the Moroccan embassy or consulate general responsible for their place of residence to find out whether applying for a consular visa may be an option.
This should not, however, be interpreted as an automatic alternative to the e-Visa. Only the relevant Moroccan diplomatic or consular mission can confirm whether it is able to accept and process an application in a traveler’s specific circumstances, as well as the applicable documents, processing times and procedures.
Travelers can identify the mission responsible for their area through Morocco’s official directory of diplomatic and consular missions.
VisasNews continues to monitor the Accès Maroc portal and will update this information as soon as normal service is restored or Moroccan authorities issue an official statement.
VisasNews Take
The Accès Maroc portal remains accessible, but the process for submitting an e-Visa application has been severely disrupted for several days. The blockage observed by VisasNews on August 27 after acceptance of the travel conditions has also been reported by several travelers. In the absence of any official communication from Moroccan authorities, however, the disruption should not be attributed to any specific cause. Travelers with upcoming departures can keep trying to submit their applications periodically and, if the problem persists, contact the Moroccan embassy or consulate responsible for their place of residence to determine whether a consular visa application may be possible.
